This paper pretends to tackle various aspects of Celtics wars that took place in La Beturia –where Celtics were settled– through the study of their defensive systems, their weapons and their ways of fighting, as well as remembering different sources where the participation of Celtics is mentioned or can be inferred.
Most of data known are focused on the final moments, which were contemporary or
just immediately previous to wars against Rome. The chronological definition has been made from those data, which allow to talk about important changes in Celtic people after the defeat of Viriato. It keeps clear the influence of Rome, directly and indirectly, through auxiliary contingents of legions. It is possible that the settlement of auxilia Celtiberians in celtic towns and their acculturation in the celtic society are the reasons why some classic authors set the origin of Celtics in the southwest in Celtiberia, since in terms of culture they are more similar to their compatriots than to the Romans, for whom they fight.

The Turduli are one of the many people that Greco-Roman geographers, historians and ethnographers describe in the Iberian Peninsula. The state of current historical research about them has hardly been developed and archaeological knowledge is almost nonexistent. Most of the known data come from the above sources, which barely mention them, and in many cases their territories, and not them, are the protagonists of the description. This paper aims to make a brief reference to some of the known facts about turduli, both from written sources and archeology.

This paper presents the main findings of the fieldwork developed in the Cerro de Guruviejo (Burguillos del Cerro, Badajoz). In this place the existence of archaeological remains of different chronologies known since the late nineteenth century. Following recent research we can speak of a settlement of modest size with a diachronic and discontinued occupation between Final Iron Age or the first moments of Romanization to medieval chronologies.

Se exponen las principales conclusiones del trabajo de campo realizado en el Cerro de Guruviejo (Burguillos del Cerro, Badajoz). Lugar donde desde finales del siglo XIX se menciona la existencia de restos arqueológicos de diferentes cronologías.
Tras las recientes investigaciones se puede hablar de un asentamiento de dimensiones modestas con una ocupación diacrónica y discontinúa entre Hierro Final o los primeros momentos de la romanización hasta cronologías medievales.

In this paper we present the results of a series of experiences that were carried out regarding the combustion of excrements belonging to different animals. We have attempted to control as much as possible the conditions, thus being more favourable to compare the results. The priority was to value the capacity for being the only combustible for fireplaces, maximun temperatures and smoke production.

En este trabajo se dan a conocer los resultados de una serie de experiencias realizadas sobre la combustión de excrementos de diferentes tipos de animales. Se ha pretendido controlar lo máximo posible las condiciones para favorecer la comparación de resultados, en los que se ha valorado de forma prioritaria su capacidad para ser el combustible único en hogares, así como las temperaturas alcanzadas y la producción de humo.

Abstract
Certain information on the peninsular western that can be linked, in some cases, with populations in the basin of the Guadiana known from early. However the carthaginian conquest of the part of the Iberian Peninsula and the start of the Second Punic War will mean a qualitative and quantitative leap in the interaction, knowledge and information on the populations of the Middle Guadiana. The data increase exponentially during de 2nd century BC, and this time being the “interlocutor” Rome. In this paper some elements such as the changing name of the populations, related to de interaction between the peoples of the región and Greek, Punic and Roman are presented.

Resumen
Desde un momento temprano se conocen ciertas informaciones sobre el occidente de la Península Ibérica que se pueden vincular, en algunos casos, con las poblaciones asentadas en la cuenca media del Guadiana. Sin embargo, la conquista cartaginesa de parte de la península y el inicio de la II Guerra Púnica supondrán un
salto cuantitativo y cualitativo en la interacción, el conocimiento y las informaciones sobre las poblaciones del Guadiana Medio. Los datos aumentan exponencialmente durante el siglo II a.C., siendo esta vez la “interlocutora” Roma. En este trabajo se presentan algunos elementos, como el nombre cambiante de las poblaciones, relacionados con la interacción entre las gentes de la región y griegos,
púnicos y romanos.

RESUMEN En este trabajo se resumen los artículos publicados por M. R. Martínez en la Revista de Extremadura entre 1899 y 1904. Se estudia el comportamiento del autor en la revista, así como los temas tratados, las zonas investigadas o la regularidad de sus contribuciones. Entre sus colaboraciones destacan la presentación de documentos inédi-tos, las noticias sobre hallazgos arqueológicos, breves historias locales y crí-ticas a libros históricos.
ABSTRACT This paper summarizes articles published by M. R. Martinez in Revista de Extremadura between 1899 and 1904. We study the behavior of the author in the magazine, as well as topics, investigated areas or the regularity of his contributions. This collaborations include the presentation of unpublished documents news about archaeological finds, brief local stories and criticism of historical books.

En 1884 Matías R. Martínez publica Apuntes para un mapa topográfico-tradicional de la villa de Burguillos, perteneciente a la provincia de Badajoz, obra que será el punto de partida y referencia necesaria de todos los estudios histórico-arqueológicos de Burguillos del Cerro. A pesar de no ser una obra exclusivamente histórica contiene un número muy importante de sitios arqueológicos, los cuales ubica en el espacio de forma bastante concreta, siendo además sus datos de una fiabilidad alta.
En este trabajo se relacionan los yacimientos actualmente conocidos con los compendiados por M. R. Martínez en esta obra y los añadidos a lo largo de su vida, además de considerarse el método por él empleado.

RESUMEN: La cuenca media del río Ardila, situada en el Suroeste de la provincia de Badajoz, debió ser un territorio dinámico y pujante en la Alta Edad Media como demuestra la cantidad de sitios conocidos. Muchos de ellos ya aparecen mencionados en los trabajos publicados por M. R. Martínez en la transición del siglo XIX al XX. En este trabajo se pretenden actualizar los datos referidos por el mencionado historiador y, en su caso, hacer una enmienda de dichas informaciones.

Throughout many periods in history, one of the most important factors in choosing a place to settle was the fact of being seen from other places. At some moments it seems that visual exposure was a priority, while at others discretion, or even occultation, seems to have been more desired.
To gain an insight into these concepts we must carry out objective comparisons, with contrastable and measurable data, which will allow us to compare sites and search for tendencies.
We have considered four possible methods for a better understanding of how sites are seen (though the techniques and methods can be applied to any element within the landscape), each of which has a series of advantages and disadvantages.
